Travel Counsellor Diploma

Program Overview

The Travel and Tourism industry is one of the biggest employers in the world.  This is a very dynamic and exciting industry.  Through this program, THE STUDENT will obtain an understanding of agency operations, computer reservation systems, ticketing, destinations, geography, customer service and sales techniques.  For reservations and ticketing you will be signing on live to SABRE, the premier electronic airline reservation system in the world!  Graduates of this program will find career opportunities and employment in areas such as corporate travel agents, leisure travel agents, airlines, hotels, home based agents, referral agents, and owning their own travel business.

This 28 week program includes a two week co-op placement.  Algonquin Careers Academy has excellent relationships with members of the Travel and Tourism industry.  You get the advantage of this relationship through your co-op placement.  The placement allows you to apply your classroom learning, gain confidence in your abilities and open doors to future employment.

This program is offered during the day in our school facility and it is also offered online.

The Travel Counselling program is endorsed by the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors (CITC).
